Praying For The World To Change

In today’s Gospel from Luke 4, Jesus heals Peter’s mother-in-law. Then at sunset, he goes out and heals the people and rebukes demons who come out of people shouting “you are the Son of God.” After all this great work, Jesus went off to a deserted place most likely for the rest and quietness of prayer with His Father.

As a musician, I like to take popular songs from the past, old and real old songs and change the words to praise God. I was thinking about prayer tonight and how Jesus prayed often. And when He healed people and taught people, He changed their lives. He does the same with me and I think with the hope that in my love for my brothers and sisters, I will serve them and in doing that, make the world a little bit better place.

So my song tonight comes from the John Mayer song, “Waiting For The World To Change.” I title my song to the melody of his song….

Praying For The World To Change

Me and all my friends we all love the Word, We are all saved by Jesus, best news we’ve ever heard. Well the world has us believin’ we can live by our pride, but our hearts trust in the Will of God and sometimes the two collide.
So we keep prayin’ (prayin’) prayin’ for the world to change. We keep on prayin’ (prayin’) prayin’ for the world to change. God’s voice seems to be missin’, it’s probably cause’ we are not listenin’ so we keep prayin’ (prayin’) prayin’ for the world to change.
Some people they wonder does a God really exist? Cause’ they see the world and all that’s bad and would a God approve of this? But our loving God gives us free will and we all have the choice to choose the world or choose the Lord and cry out with our voice.
So we keep prayin’ (prayin’) prayin’ for the world to change. We keep on prayin’ (prayin’) prayin’ for the world to change. We got to do what’s right and put our trust in Jesus Christ so we keep prayin’ (prayin’) prayin’ for the world to change.  (SOLO)
We’re still prayin’ (prayin’) prayin’ for the world to change. We keep on prayin’ (prayin’) prayin’ for the world to change. God made the world for livin’ but we’re takin’ more than givin’ so we keep prayin’ (prayin’) prayin’ for the world to change.
