“You Ought To Wash One Another’s Feet”

feet-wash3

Tonight as we celebrate Holy Thursday, I am reminded again that Jesus came to serve and not to be served as when Jesus tells his apostles:

“You call me ‘teacher’ and ‘master,’ and rightly so, for indeed I am. If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.” (John 13:13-15)

I do not need to go on a tangent about myself, the world and I suppose many who are reading that we are selfish and tend to like being served rather than serving. It’s probably hard to relate to washing someone’s feet. I understand that back in Jesus’ time, it really was a sacrifice.

So my thought tonight would be the people and areas of my life where I can better serve along with being more thankful for all the people who serve and have served me in my life with all the glory being given to God who is our model to follow.
