Today in the Catholic Church, the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, archangels, is celebrated. The three readings today from Revelation 12:7-12, Psalm 138:1-5 and the Gospel of John 1:47-51, talk about Angels. On a personal note, I ask my Guardian Angel every day to “Light, Guard, Rule and Guide” me on the path to Jesus. Here is what the fore mentioned scripture passages say.
Revelation
War broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels battled against the dragon.
The dragon and its angels fought back, but they did not prevail and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.
The huge dragon, the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, who deceived the whole world, was thrown down to earth, and its angels were thrown down with it.
Psalm 138
I will give thanks to you, O LORD, with all my heart, for you have heard the words of my mouth; in the presence of the angels I will sing your praise;
I will worship at your holy temple and give thanks to your name.
Gospel of John
And he said to him, “Amen, amen, I say to you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
May God, in His infinite mercy, send His Angels to protect us from all evil as He did on that glorious day when Satan and his band of misfit angels were banned from Heaven. Amen.
